Overview

This versatile instrument is capable of producing a stunning range of tones, from the most delicate to the most resounding. Its versatility and adaptability is unsurpassed. It also happens to be an easy instrument to get started on. Shankar Mahadevan Academy’s instructor-led courses for the Western Guitar will help students get started on the instrument and provide them with in-class and offline exercises to rapidly improve their proficiency as accompanist as well as soloist. The first course (Introduction to Guitar) will cover the basics of construction, playing chords and melodies, and reading tabulature sheets. Subsequent courses will build upon these basics and build a vocabulary of chords, licks and genre-specific playing styles.

Prerequisites

Prerequisite of the course: –   Interest in music and willingness to learn the instrument.   – Student should be 8 years and above   – Student should have a guitar   – GuitarTuna tuning app

Western Piano

Overview

This course introduces the students to Western Classical music as played on the piano. The students start their journey by learning the basics of playing the instrument and move on to playing music through sight reading, understanding music through theory and aural schools and learning about the various composers and their piano compositions.

Fundamentals of Piano

This course is ideal for students looking to take their first steps into the world of Western Classical Music (Piano). The course aims at providing a strong foundation where learning is a process of constant discovery. The course will lay the foundation for acquiring clarity of concepts of Steady Beat, Rhythm, Tempo, Pitch, Volume and Note Values building the foundation of any music student, who wants to learn any instrument. The student develops listening, reading & playing skills with an exploratory outlook in addition to acquiring knowledge. The Course designed for absolute beginner in music,who can definately become a good listener and nurture joy of music.

Keyboard

Rhythm music institute’s Keyboard courses introduce the student to the joys of playing the keyboard. In these courses, you would be able to learn the fundamentals of keyboard. You can also learn to play simple songs on the keyboard in the C-major scale. These songs are a mix of Indian movie songs as well as simple English songs.

Karaoke singing is popular with both amateur and advanced singers. In Karaoke Singing, the singer lends the lead voice to a backing track. Learning how to sing along with a track is both an art and a craft to be mastered. At the same time, it is a fun activity to indulge in with your friends and family!  You too can learn to sing your favorite songs for an occasion, performance, or just for fun, with karaoke!  Select any 3 songs from our Song Library. This course will be conducted in 12 sessions (one class per week). The sessions will be augmented with access to course materials online.
